Players have expressed a desire for more character customization for years. Why is this such a low priority for Blizzard?

Ion has revealed in the recent Developer Q&A that there are no plans on the horizon for non-allied race customization options. Along with this (from the MMO Champion transcription, at any rate) there was no mention of updates player models for Worgen and Goblins. Why is it that the vocal desire of the playerbase to have more and better character customization options for playable characters falls on deaf ears time and time again?I find it literally impossible to believe the art team couldn’t have have been allocated ANY time since the addition of new models (or Worgen/goblins in 2010) to give us new/updates hair styles, skin tones, or—god forbid—tattoos/scars/etc. I’m not buying it that we’d have to sacrifice a raid tier for some customization options when you’ve had time to create a dozen ear and face combos for BfA NPC races but Worgen can only be 4 shades of brown, and male night elves shaving their chin means they can’t have eyebrows. Why can’t this be made a priority? Models are aging rapidly, players WANT customization. These are the characters we see every day. This isn’t something that should be thrown in the back burner, or left off the table entirely.More customization, please.
